The month of August is known by the Potwatomi people in Wisconsin as Blueberry Picking month. Hmmm…blueberries! I have fond memories of blueberry picking with my parents as a child. I also remember taking my nieces blueberry picking. I believe they ate more blueberries while picking out in the woods than we took home.
On the Medicine Wheel, August is in the direct southern part of the Wheel. The most southern part of the Medicine Wheel where is it hot and the crops are ripening. This part of the Medicine Wheel represents the platonic solid Tetrahedron. The Tetrahedron is triangular shaped. The element that represents the Tetrahedron is Fire. For me, Fire represents the South on the Medicine Wheel. The color Red lives in this part of the Wheel. The Southern part of the Medicine Wheel carries male energies that are extroverted. The South also carries the energies of expansion, rapid growth, the mid-day sun, abundance, passion and vitality.
We are at the pinnicale of summer. The height of the Dog Days of Summer. In my last blog I wrote about the star/planet Sirius the Dogstar and Summer. I have learned abit more since I wrote that last blog. I learned from my good friend, Denise Iwaniw, that Archangel Michael and Saint Germaine energies are also in south as well as the Blue Eagle that comes from the Star Sirius.
Sending you wishes of a delightful rest of the summer.
