I recently taught a drum making workshop in Hastings Michigan. There were delightful women drum makers in attendance. In this particular drum making workshop, I said something out loud that I have only thought to myself and shared with less than a handful of friends. I shared with these female drum makers that as women it is our responsibility to pick up and embrace our Feminine Energy and we can do that through the sacred drum. It is my belief that the drum, specifically the frame hand drum, is a symbol of the return or re-emergence of the Divine Feminine here on Mother Earth.
If we can heal and leave the past atrocities that man has done to women, we can move past the label of victim and into the empowerment of our true selves as women. Rather than pointing fingers and believing that women, females, are at the mercy of someone more powerful, we pick up a hand drum and begin the beat of Life. The drum can be that symbol of, “the Goddess, the creatress of the Universe” which Layne Redmond wrote about in her book, When the Drummers Were Women.
As humanity begins its journey into the Age of Aquarius and as the Divine Feminine energy becomes the compassionate and nurturing lead on Earth, we women need to step into our leadership roles in a new way, walking to a new beat.
Join me this Wednesday night, May 23, at 9pm EST, on my radio show, Sacred Hoop with Neshi, on Souls Journey Radio, as I share in more detail the aspects of The Drum, The Voice of the Divine Feminine Energy.
